
Buildings account for 1/3rd of global energy use. But still, big part of daily operations runs on manual, relying heavily on humans. Real estate managers and property owners manage massive fleets of buildings 24/7, dealing with tenant complaints and expensive energy bills. The global heating sector, accounts for about 50% of annual CO2 emissions. Today's and tomorrow's energy needs grow exponentially, same as energy prices. This creates an eminent need for energy efficiency, today.
HeatMind brings a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that tackles the problem under the least amount of additional infrastructure: operational data that is already available in the buildings is fetched and loaded into our AI framework. Then magic happens.
Data from the substation, inner spaces, as well as weather forecasts is continuously fed into HeatMind databases. HeatMind contains a toolkit of AI-based and physics-enhanced algorithms that learn from this data and assemble a digital twin of the building-substation system without manual calibration. The digital twin predicts what will happen before it happens: substation operational parameters as well as indoor conditions in the building are predicted over shorter or longer time horizons. The optimal course of action for the substation "buttons" is then identified given any designated target behavior for the system. Training, prediction, and optimization run recurrently in time, rendering HeatMind an adaptive system. Hence, it is able to cope with any change in occupant patterns, building insulation, or weather, without the need for manual re-tuning.


Unlike conventional "thermostats", HeatMind deploys Ecoflex. A narrow flexibility margin is allowed to indoor temperature which creates an extra degree of freedom for HeatMind to shave thermal peaks. We store heat in the building walls when it's cheap, and we let it release into the space when it's needed the most.

We support all major industrial communication protocols (BACnet, OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, REST API). The solution is plug-and-play, and once connected is able to work autonomously without supervision. Still, it comes as a human-centric system, offering a flexible web-based dashboard with all the necessary interfaces and visuals.
